About Teri Balser |

Your facilitator
Dr. Teresa Balser is currently an associate professor of Soil Science, as well as honorary faculty affiliate with the Office of Human Resource Development, and Director of the Institute Biology Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was the American Association of Public and Land Grant Institutions 2009 National Excellence in College and University Teaching award winner and was named the 2010 Doctoral U.S. Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Institute for the Advancement of Teaching. Teri is a graduate of Millennium3 Education's advanced Leadership trainer-training program and has spent the past eight years facilitating Leadership development and exploration for the Madison campus and wider community nationally. She received a certificate in Integral Facilitation from the Office of Human Resource Development and Facilitator in 2006. Teri has experience as a career and life coach, and conducts a variety of workshops on topics ranging from teaching large classes, navigating grad school, facilitating focus groups, K-12 administrative development, and coaching and management for local businesses. She has a particular specialization in leadership and professional development for scientific professional societies. She holds an appointment with the American Society of Agronomy as Leadership Development Coordinator, and delivers half-day, full day, and multi-day leadership development seminars for the Tri-Societies and the American Phytopathological Society. |
